Charbroiler Cooks Unevenly
Topics:
- Charbroiler cooks unevenly
- Charbroiler clicking during use
- Charbroiler hotter or colder in the front or back when cooking
- Charbroiler heat distribution
Troubleshooting:
- If the knob is not set at HIGH, the burner may turn blue and the automatic ignitor will begin sparking, this is normal operation.
- Turn the knob back to HIGH. This is the only setting for a charbroiler.
- Verify the ceramic ignitor is clean and not chipped or cracked.
- If dirty, clean with a soft, dry cloth to remove debris.
- Verify the heat distribution plate is installed:
- GR Gas Ranges, R Series Gas Ranges, and RT Series Gas Rangetops
- Verify the blank off plate is centered under the burner grate on top of the ceramic burner to help distribute heat evenly.
- A new blank off plate may be ordered using part # 815824.
- Contact a Factory Certified Parts Distributor to order parts.
- Dual Fuel Ranges and Sealed Burner Rangetop models, make sure the radiant plate is installed.
- The radiant plate sits directly below the charbroiler and is not secured to the unit in any way.
- Lift radiant plate up to remove for cleaning.
