Topics:

  • What is the procedure for preparing the Convection Steam Oven (CSO) for first use?
  • What needs to be done before a CSO2450 is used for the first time?
  • CSO3050 before first-time use procedure
  • CSO burn-in process

Answer:

Use the provided Convection Steam Oven Water Test Strips to determine water hardness.

  • The oven defaults to hard water.
  • Refer to the Use and Care Guide for instructions on setting water hardness level.

The burn-in process is a part of the initial start-up procedure.  It is an automatic cycle.

  • The burn-in process must be initiated or skipped from the menu in order to move forward with the set up procedure.
  • It is an automatic program, so no temperature or mode is selected by the user.
  • Touch "Initial Burn-In" to start the program.
  • Touch the > symbol to skip the program.
    • If skipped, doing a factory reset is the only way to return to the initial start up sequence.

To make sure that all residual oil from the manufacturing process has been removed:

  1. Clean the oven thoroughly with hot water and a mild detergent.
  2. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
  3. Turn on cooking ventilation. Some smoke and odor is normal.
  4. Fill and install the water tank.
  5. The unit runs through a series of options that must be set:
    • Select the desired language.
    • Select date.
    • Set the time.
    • Select temperature units.
    • Select the water hardness.
    • Rinse the water system (plumbed models only).
  6. The Burn-In Screen appears.
    • Select Initial Burn-In to start the burn-in process.
    • The burn-in process takes approximately 30 minutes.
    • Once the burn-in process is complete, OK appears on the screen.
    • Touch OK to return to the Home Screen.

It is not necessary to remove oven racks or guides for the first time use process. Refer to the product Use and Care Guide for further information.
