Troubleshooting:
If a drain tube at the back of the unit is clogged in a Classic (BI), Designer (IT, IC, ID), 700, 400, or 648PRO Series product, it requires Factory Certified Service to clear it.
The drain tube may clog due to excessive moisture and cooling in the unit. Complete the following troubleshooting steps to determine if service is necessary:
- Make sure the refrigerator temperature is set correctly to prevent freezing in the drain tube.
- Factory settings on electronic control panels are 38°F (3°C) in a refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) in a freezer. These are ideal food storage temperatures.
- See Refrigerator and Freezer Temperature Settings for instructions.
- Clean the Condenser if it has not been done in the past 6 to 12 months.
- Make sure the door is closing properly. Remove obstructions preventing the door from closing, if present.
- Inspect the door gasket for rips or tears. Have the door gasket replaced if cracked or torn.
- If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, service is necessary to expertly diagnose and repair the product.
