Sub-Zero Classic Series (BI) Ice Dispenser Operation

Answer:

The Classic Series (BI) dispenser functions vary from internal and external dispensers.

  • The ice dispenser and bulk ice on the Classic Series dispenser models will not work when the freezer door is open.
    • Close the freezer door and test the feature. If the feature does not work with the door closed, no troubleshooting advice is available.
    • Bulk Ice is only available on External Dispenser models.
  • The glass should not be placed on drip tray. It is intended to catch water and not as a shelf.
  • The water and ice come out to the rear and left of the center of the opening.
  • Holding the glass up to the rear and left of center it will land in the glass properly.

Internal
  1. Press and hold to dispense ice.
  2. Ice dispenses within 3 seconds.
  3. If unit does not dispense ice after 5 seconds, see Sub-Zero Internal Ice Dispenser Not Working.
ICE
External
  1. Press and hold to dispense ice.
  2. Ice will dispense within 3 seconds.
  3. For metered ice, press and hold for 2 seconds. If held longer, the cycle repeats for more ice.
  4. Dispenser will meter and collect ice before dispensing into glass.
  5. If unit does not dispense ice after 5 seconds, see Sub-Zero External Ice Dispenser Not Working.
WATERInternal and External
  1. Press and hold to dispense water.
  2. Water dispenses immediately.
BULK ICE
External
  • A bulk ice dispenser is inside the refrigerator.
  • Press and hold the bulk ice button to dispense large quantities of ice.
