Cove Dishwasher (DW2451) Descaling Instructions

Answer:

Cove Dishwasher DW2451 models will show "Descale Unit. Check Manual" on the control panel when a descale cycle is required to clean build-up from hard water deposits.

To Prevent Hard Water Build-up:

  • For water softener models only, use the test strip provided and the chart in Cove Dishwasher Water Hardness Setting to determine the appropriate water hardness setting.
  • Use dishwasher detergent pods, powder, or tablets. These detergents typically contain agents that prevent build-up.
  • Run a descale cycle every 6 months even if the message is not shown. 

To Run a Descale Cycle:

  1. Empty the dishwasher. 
  2. Place a dishwasher cleaner or 3tbsp (44 mil) of citric acid into the detergent compartment, then slide the cover closed. 
  3. Touch Cycles+ multiple times to scroll to Soak & Scrub.
  4. Touch Start, and close the door within 4 seconds.
