Cove Dishwasher (DW2451) Descaling Instructions
Topics:
- How to descale a Cove Dishwasher
- Remove scale deposits from Cove Dishwasher interior
- "Descale Unit. Check Manual" message on Cove Dishwasher
Answer:
Cove Dishwasher DW2451 models will show "Descale Unit. Check Manual" on the control panel when a descale cycle is required to clean build-up from hard water deposits.
To Prevent Hard Water Build-up:
- For water softener models only, use the test strip provided and the chart in Cove Dishwasher Water Hardness Setting to determine the appropriate water hardness setting.
- Use dishwasher detergent pods, powder, or tablets. These detergents typically contain agents that prevent build-up.
- Run a descale cycle every 6 months even if the message is not shown.
To Run a Descale Cycle:
- Empty the dishwasher.
- Place a dishwasher cleaner or 3tbsp (44 mil) of citric acid into the detergent compartment, then slide the cover closed.
- Touch Cycles+ multiple times to scroll to Soak & Scrub.
- Touch Start, and close the door within 4 seconds.
