Fifteen years after they first collaborated, the homeowner and designer Shoshanna Shapiro reunited to give this kitchen a refresh in both function and style. The pair reimagined the footprint, repurposing the dining room and layering on timeless design details. The result is elegantly charming yet practical.

AN “AHA” MOMENT
When the designer saw the dining room cluttered with pantry items and misfit culinary tools, they knew it needed to be transformed into a dedicated pantry room with ample storage and prep space.
THE ULTIMATE PANTRY ROOM
The converted pantry does more than store items; it keeps the main kitchen uncluttered and efficient while offering modern conveniences like Sub-Zero Undercounter Refrigeration Drawers and a water-filling station.
TIMELESS APPLIANCES COMPLETE THE DESIGN
The homeowner’s vision for specific appliances resulted in a timeless look. The white-oak paneled Sub-Zero Refrigerator and Cove Dishwasher, and the Wolf Range with brass knobs and bezels seamlessly complement the sophisticated aesthetic.
CHARMING DETAILS
The neutral color palette and elegant brass hardware create a luxurious yet charming feel. An arch motif—repeated in both the pantry doorway and bar alcove—offers architectural interest and visual cohesion.
