Contemporary Elegance in an Open-Concept Kitchen

When a young couple dreamt up their desert retreat, they envisioned a free-flowing space designed for luxurious living. They wanted sophisticated yet practical design, where concealed appliances maintain a refined aesthetic and unique materials take center stage. This project reflects a commitment to designing a cohesive and inviting space that enhances the natural flow of the owners’ home and life.

UNIFIED, FUNCTIONAL SPACES

In the open concept design, the functional aspects of the kitchen needed to blend effortlessly with the relaxed mood of the living spaces. This is achieved in part through Sub-Zero Refrigeration that is concealed behind custom panels. A massive hidden pantry offers additional functionality and storage, keeping the main kitchen clutter-free.

DISTINCT ZONES

With the spaces flowing freely into each other, it was important to establish a clear boundary between the kitchen and dining room. The built-in buffet, aligned with the cooktop wall, defines the dining space while maintaining visual continuity.

SHOWCASING UNIQUE FINISHES

The kitchen features distinctive slabs of quartzite that serve as the focal point. The design—and the integration of the unobtrusive Wolf Cooktop and Downdraft—allows the stone's inherent beauty to shine, making the shadowbox wall the centerpiece of the space.

INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIVING

The back wall of the living room features motorized floor-to-ceiling windows that pocket fully into the wall. This creates an expansive indoor-outdoor living area with phenomenal views, enhancing the home's connection to its serene desert locale.
