Wolf Countertop Requirements for Installation
Topics:
- Can a cooktop be installed in a butcher block, wood, or other countertop that is not solid surface?
- Can a range be installed into or next to a wooden countertop?
- Do the countertops have to be solid surface to install a Wolf product?
- Can Wolf Cooktops be installed in an island?
- Countertop surface temperature surrounding a Wolf Cooktop
Answer:
As long as a Wolf cooking product is installed in an opening as suggested by Wolf, the countertop surrounding the cooking product can be of any material and thickness including but not limited to:
- Butcher block
- Wood
- Solid surface
- Laminate
Two exceptions include:
- Flush mount cooktop (CT, CG, CI, CE) installations are intended for granite, solid surface, or stone countertop surfaces only.
- OG Outdoor Grills must be installed in a Wolf OG Outdoor Grill liner when installed in a combustible enclosure of any kind.
The countertop surrounding a Wolf Cooktop or other product may be hot to the touch when in use.
- This residual heat transfer does not prevent safe use of the product and is considered normal.
- The length of time it takes for the interior and exterior of a unit to cool down varies greatly due to factors ranging of temperature used, length of time used, and ambient room temperature.
Refer to the product Installation Guide or Wolf Design Guide for design specifications.
