Insulation in Wolf Ovens
Topics:
- White particles, fibers, strings, material, insulation in oven after use.
- Is the oven insulation harmful, hazardous, damaging to one's health?
- Is it normal to see oven insulation through the oven door glass?
- Is it normal to see oven insulation in rack guide mounting holes or screw holes?
- Should insulation be hanging out from corners, walls, or ceiling of a Wolf oven?
Answer:
White fibers or insulation fibers can show up in all ovens, not just Wolf products.- This may be more noticeable in new ovens, particularly after the use of a convection mode.
- Loose fibers may be seen within the oven glass door, rack guide mounting holes, rack guide screw holes, corners or edges of oven cavity, or oven door gasket.
- Ensure that the proper burn-in process has been performed; refer to First Time Oven Use Burn-In Process.
- Ensure that the oven interior is wiped clean after it cools completely.
- Remaining fibers will dissipate with continued use; wiping out the oven cavity after each use will help to expedite this process.
- Small fibers of the insulation are not directly harmful or hazardous; however, direct skin contact should be avoided to reduce irritation.
- Formaldehyde is not used in Wolf oven insulation.
- Insulation is also visible through vents on the unit.
- If large gaps within oven insulation can be seen, or if oven insulation is freely hanging from sections of the oven cavity or oven door, no further troubleshooting advice is available.
