Answer:
The water outlet size on an Undercounter Ice Maker depends on the unit's drain method:
- The drain line on the UC-15I (gravity drain) is a 3/4" ID hose.
- A 5' PEX tube is provided for drainage.
- This drain line can be cut to size if needed. If a longer drain line is required, disconnect the provided line and install one of adequate size to avoid multiple connection points.
- The drain line on the UC-15IP (drain pump) is a 3/8" ID hose.
- A 5' PVC drain tube is provided for drainage.
- This drain line can be cut to size if needed. If a longer drain line is required, disconnect the provided line and install one of adequate size to avoid multiple connection points.
- Both drain methods require routing to an open site drain.
- Do not connect directly to a drain line, as bacteria from the drain line may contaminate the ice maker.
- Follow local codes for all plumbing connections.
- Maximum drain line length is 100' for pump model, with a maximum 12' rise.
- For the gravity drain, horizontal drain lines must have a 1/4" (6) per 12" (305) fall.
