500 or 600 Series Freezer Drain Tube Cleaning

Cause:
- Frozen drain tube
- Food particles in drain tube causing clog
Troubleshooting:
For the most applicable information, first determine your product model by referring to the serial tag. To locate the serial tag, refer to Sub-Zero Serial Tag Locations.
- Turn the unit off at the Unit ON/OFF key.
- Turn the dial on a 500 Series down past 1 to OFF. This will turn off the freezer only.
- Allow the unit to defrost with the door or drawer open until it is at room temperature and dry.
- Watch for dripping water and clean up as needed.
- Remove the drain pan and empty as needed, see Drain Pan Removal.
- The freezer drain tube is covered by a drain trough enclosure that is not removable.
- It is not possible to flush out the same way the refrigerator drain tube can.
- Do not disconnect the drain tube.
- For clogged drains accompanied by the following, contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair:
- Poor temperatures
- Door seal issues
- Service light indicators
- Any other problems
