COVE DISHWASHER RECALL - UNITED STATES, CANADA, AND MEXICO
On April 26, 2021, Cove Appliances voluntarily initiated a safety recall of select Cove Dishwashers in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada. The Cove Dishwashers affected by this safety recall were manufactured before April 2021, and were sold through Cove's authorized dealer network in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The recall affects approximately 40,650 units in the United States, as well as approximately 1,350 units that were sold in Canada, and approximately 250 sold in Mexico. Units in Mexico will be handled by our distributor there (IESA).
Please immediately stop using the dishwasher, disconnect from the power source (unplug or turn off at the breaker), and contact a Cove Factory Certified Service professional to schedule an inspection and free repair. You may also call or email the Cove hotline for a free repair if your dishwasher is included in this recall.

Q. Which models are included and when were they manufactured?
The Cove models listed above were manufactured between October 2016 - March 2021. Other than those listed above, no other Cove models are affected by this voluntary recall and required repair.
Q. How can I figure out if my dishwasher is affected?
The dishwashers that are part of this recall can be identified by matching the model number and serial number found in the safety notice and in the list above. The model and serial numbers can be found inside the dishwasher on the inside of the unit on the left side the dishwasher.
Q. What should I do if my dishwasher is an affected model?
If you have one of the affected models, please stop using the appliance, disconnect from the power source (unplug or turn off at the breaker) and contact a local Cove Factory Certified Service immediately to schedule a free repair.
Q. When does this problem occur?
In the specified models, this problem can occur while the dishwasher is idle or in use. Please disconnect unit from the power source (unplug or turn off at the breaker) and call for Service.
Q. Can I continue to use my dishwasher until a repair is made?
No. If you have one of the affected models, please stop using the appliance, disconnect from the power source (unplug or turn off at the breaker) and contact a local Cove Factory Certified Service immediately to schedule a free repair.
Q. What could potentially happen if I continue to operate the dishwasher?
The heating element in the dishwasher may not properly shut off and may cause the dishwasher to overheat. Consequently, the dishwasher may present a potential fire hazard. This has reportedly resulted in burning smells, smoke, and flames in the dishwasher unit.
Q. Why is this a voluntary recall?
Upon learning of the potential problem with Cove DW2450 and DW2450WS models of dishwashers manufactured before April 2021, we notified the appropriate federal authorities at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and we are working in full cooperation with the agency. We want our customers to be safe, and we volunteered to recall the affected models and quickly make necessary repairs.

The Cove Dishwasher recall affects approximately 40,650 units sold in the United States, approximately 1,350 units that were sold in Canada and approximately 250 sold in Mexico.
Q. Where were these dishwashers manufactured?
The dishwashers were manufactured in our facility in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
